Sundown/GSI Surfboard Demo July 30th, 5pm-8pm Lido Beach West

Join the folks of Sundown for another Sundown/GSI Surfboard Demo on Thursday July 30th at 5pm-8pm at Lido Beach West, West Parking lot. It’s going to be another great day to try out lots of different boards from 7S, Webber, McTavish, Walden, Timpone and more.

The Fashion Center Business Improvement District (BID) displays Surf into Summer, a new series by artist and New Yorker Mitchell Schorr.  Surf into Summer, a free exhibit, is on display in a street-level window at 215 West 38th Street through July 30th. DEAR & YONDER @ Mollusk NYC – 7/30

Shot by legendary surf cinematographers Thomas Campbell, Scott Soens and Dave Homcy the film captures the authenticity of each surfer’s experience through imagery, music and art that reflect the vision of the project. Filmmakers Tiffany Campbell and Andria Lessler tie these carefully crafted pieces together to tell a story that defies boundaries and demonstrates the inner spirit of the female surfer of both today and yesterday. Dear and Yonder pays homage to the most avant-garde female surfers of the past forty years, some who have enjoyed the limelight and others that have only existed in quiet pockets, but have pushed the boundaries and changed the face of the sport in their own way.

Sundown Surf Shop and Global Surf Industries will be holding a Surfboard Demo on July 16th, 5pm at Lido Beach West. Try boards from Walden, 7S Super Fish, Meyerhoffer, Timpone, McTavish and More… Ever wanted to try a SUP? Southpoint SUP’s will be on had as well. Come on down and check them out.

WAVES Pool Party – 7/16

Join WAVES for Development on Thursday, July 16 at the Grace Hotel for a Pool Party fundraising event from 7-10 pm. One Hour open bar, tons of giveaways from local shops and silent auction items. 

WAVES uses surfing to empower local communities in Peru in: life skills and healthy living, environmental conservation, social entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism.

We’ll be hosting a 1 hour OPEN BAR from 7 to 8pm featuring Peak Organic Beer, Barefoot Wines,and Guayaki Yerba Mate Organic Tea (with drink specials afterwards)

During the event there will be giveaways, raffle prizes, and a silent auction sponsored by:
