Aloha!
Hoping that all is well while wishing too that we may experience another repeat summer drenched with clean ruler edged ground swell lines right into the autum hurricane season.
I was delighted to see this schedule for the Surfer’s Healing events posted on this URL because it’s a win-win solution and a hallmark example of giving.
One of the highlights in surfing is to see a beginner ride his or her very first wave and crack that ear to ear grin in jubilation culminated by an endorphine like rush of euphoria draped from head-to-toe!
Some say that those blessed souls dealing with Autism are able to process information so much better when in the ocean and able to make the connection immediately as you and I would; the rest is history!
There was one example a few years ago when a young Surfer’s Healing camper caught his first wave, naviagted himself and the longboard beneath his feet around a surfer paddling out and continued onward to shore in one motion hardly ever missing a beat!
He must have visualized himself in a dream like the Hopie Indians believe and perhaps an outlet to free the soul?
Many say that the Best Surfer is the one having the most fun in the water and I truly have to believe that and when you experience those special moments in the water watching newcomers experience that rush of surfing, it represents the ultimate form of extreme sports healing at its best.
I was impressed with last years Surfer’s Healing crew made up of surfer’s, Maka DeSoto, Keali’i Mamala, Kainalu Froiseth, Puna Moller, Jason Magallanes, Bucky Barry, Izzy Paskowitz and Garrett McNamara whom enjoyed their visit. to New York.
Many agree that the New York surfing vibe is in good standing and nice to see many high spirited ethusiasts vice the negative drama ridden examples elsewhere.
It was nice to see area businesses, entrepreneurs and families in the Spirit of Giving bringing much needed support and Aloha to our beaches.
Keep up the great work on the website because it’s nice to visit and participate within an interactive site with positive messages & vibes.
See you at this year’s Surfer’s Healing event!
September 11, 2001 sported huge clean surf that remains unsurpassed and subsequent dates have proven to experience epic waves and hope that the Surf will be in the form of a ground swell to bless this years Montauk & Long Island events.
See You in the Water!
