The Eastern Long Island Chapter of The Surfrider Foundation will meet on Friday, March 24, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at Spinnaker’s Restaurant, 63 Main Street, Sag Harbor. The meeting is open to the members and non-members alike –all are welcome and encouraged to attend. We need your input and involvement. After all, it’s your beach! Admission is free.
Southampton Town Trustee Jon Semlear and East Hampton Town Trustee William Mott will be the guest speakers.
Among the important topics that will be discussed are:
• The plan to protect the wave at Montauk Point.
• Strategy to expand surfing access to beaches on the north side of the Lighthouse. Update on our talks with State Parks.
• 4×4 beach access update.
• Turtle Cove update.
• Education programs.
• Chapter news.
• Much more….

ACOE Long Beach Storm Protection Plan News

The LB city council will be meeting with the ACOE on Tuesday, March 7 at 6pm t discuss the “yet to be released to the public” revised plan. After the meeting ends, ther will be a chance to speak to the council, to voice your concerns
This work session will take place next TUESDAY MARCH 7 at 6pm at City Hall before the regular City Council meeting which begins at 8:00. There will be no opportunity for input at that time. If you choose, you can make a statement at the Good and Welfare portion of the meeting which will take place after the regular meeting.
