Local Filmmaker wins Prize with Experimental Short Film

Katrina del Mar of NYC and Rockaway, has finished her short film “Surf Gang” It’s fable about the exploits of an all girl surfer gang, the “Rockaway Ruffnecks.”

You can check it out online and Vote for Surf Gang at the planet out website The film just won the Jury Award for Best Experimental Film at the Planet Out Short Movie Awards. Local screening not as yet planned, but definitely looking into it! more info at Katrina’s website
