THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS is holding a public information session to discuss thei DEIS (Draft Environmental Impact Statement) for the Montauk Point Storm Damag Reduction Project on Monday, September 19th at 7:00 pm at the Montauk Fire House

_________________________________________________________

THERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 — 7:00 P.M. AT THE MONTAUK FIRE HOUSE!

THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS is holding a public information session to discuss their DEIS (Draft Environmental Impact Statement) for the Montauk Point Storm Damage Reduction Project.

Surfrider has discussed in several meetings that the revetment they are proposing to build around the base of the lighthouse will destroy several surf breaks.

Anyone who ever has, or ever plans to surf any of the breaks near the Point in Montauk again, should attend this meeting. This may be your last chance to save some of Long Islands finest surfspots. This is not just a Surfrider issue, it is a surfing issue. Please spread the word and come out in numbers on Monday night!

The Montauk Fire House is located at 12 Flamingo Avenue in Montauk.
Let’s fill it up!

Anyone who wished to see the Army Corps DEIS or Feasibility Report can contact me directly. I can provide copies of these documents on cd.

Hope to see you all there.
